Spring Proposal Ideas

Time to get down on one knee and propose to your bride-to-be with these creative spring proposal ideas…

  • Wall Crawl: Photo op!  Make a weekend of this proposal and rent bikes. Spend the whole weekend seeking out each of the walls on Rosie Clayton’s Chicago Wall Crawl list! Spend time taking goofy photos together at each wall with a Polaroid camera, to add a quirky, fun touch to the adventure! When you reach the end of the list, each of you should pick which wall is your favorite and circle back to it for a final photo. When you reach her favorite wall, drop to bended knee and propose! The pictures will be priceless and definitely unique, but what will be more priceless is when it’s all over and she learns that videographers have captured your entire day adventure, right down to bended knee!
  • Botanic Gardens: Much like the Lincoln Park Conservatory, the Botanic Gardens can be absolutely beautiful in every season. Spring is especially beautiful however, and can make for a great afternoon date. Surprise her by laying out an adorable spring sundress outfit, complete with wedges, a purse, and even a cute hat, and tell her you’re going on a date to watch your love bloom (Yes, I also write the date cards for the Bachelor/Bachelorette series). Spend the afternoon strolling through the new blooms, and when dusk hits, you’ll reach a pathway lit up by candles and fairy lights, and a guitarist playing your song. Then seal the deal by proposing in this springtime wonderland!
  • Wrigley Field: What would it be like to be proposed to in a completely rented out stadium? Let your love tell you what it’s like by renting out Wrigley Field for the day and proposing on the field! To make this spring proposal carry out over the whole day, start by touring Wrigleyville and grabbing lunch or drinks. Suggest that the two of you see if the field is open, which will give the afternoon a sense of adventure and thrill. When you walk onto the field in the completely empty stadium, take it all in with your honey before proposing. After she says yes, because who could say no to that, present her with a baseball jersey with her soon-to-be last name on it! To amp up this proposal even further, surprise her FURTHER by inviting your family and friends to the stadium to secretly watch the proposal, then spend the afternoon celebrating your engagement!
  • Sailboat: Okay, so it’s not a rowboat in The Notebook but she’ll be just as swept off her feet if you propose on a sailboat in Lake Michigan. We suggest renting from Chicago Sailboat Charters because they offer day and nighttime rentals, so you can perfect your proposal strategy! If you’re doing a daytime ride, pack a picnic lunch, complete with desserts, because the wedding diet hasn’t started yet, and champagne to celebrate with! If you want to make this spring proposal even more romantic, go with the nighttime rental, decorate your sailboat with white string lights, wait until the sun is setting, and pop the question then!

These spring proposal ideas are the absolute perfect way to utilize the beautiful weather and scenery that springtime brings. Whether your lady is artsy or adventurous, there is a spring proposal idea in this list for you, and of course, Visions will be more than willing to help you pull it off!
